Queen City Showcase Rules & Responsibilities

Thursday, November 7, 2024 8:24:15 AM Rules & Responsibilities: Governing Rules: All games follow USA Hockey rules. Every player, coach, and manager must be registered with USA Hockey. Team Requirements: Home Teams: Bring a volunteer to manage the scoresheet (provided by Jr. Cyclones). Visiting Teams: Provide a clock operator. *Detailed instructions for clock operators will be available in the scorer’s box. Both Teams: Each team should bring four stickers per game and assign someone to handle their penalty box. Game Format: Round-Robin & Finals: Each team plays three games in a round-robin format, leading to a Consolation or Championship game on Sunday. Game Structure: 3-minute warmup, three 15-minute periods, 2-minute penalties. Scoring System: Win = 3 points, OT Win = 2 points, OT Loss = 1 point. Mercy Rule: If a team leads by 6 goals, running time is activated, reverting to stop time if the lead reduces to 3 goals. Tie Breakers: Round-Robin: First resolved with a 3-player shootout, then single-player rounds if needed. Championship OT: 5-minute, 3v3 OT; if tied, a shootout follows. Order of Tie-Breaker Criteria: Head-to-Head, Goal Differential, Goals Against, Goals For, OT Wins, OT Losses, Coin Toss.
