Rules, Regulations, Tournament Format & Tie Break

miércoles, febrero 19, 2025 1:03:36 PM Rules and Regulations: 1. The Showcase will be conducted under USA Hockey rules. 2. All players, coaches, managers, and teams from the United States participating in the Queen City Showdown must be registered with USA Hockey. 3. Official USA Hockey rosters are due by February 1, 2025. Please submit via email to: linsey.lavalley@jrcyclones.com 4. Home teams are required to provide a volunteer to facilitate the scoresheet. 5. Visiting teams are required to provide a volunteer to run the clock. 6. All teams will need to provide someone to manage their penalty box. 7. 1 Time Out Per Game Tournament Format/Tie Breakers: 1) Teams will play 3 round robin games to establish seeding. 2) Games will be 4 - minute warmup with 3, 15-minute periods. 3) Penalties will be 1:30 minutes. 4) 3 points for a win, 2 points for an OTW, 1 pt. for OTL, 0 points for a loss. 5) Round Robin Overtime will be a 3-player sudden death shoot out. After first 3 shooters, it will be a single player sudden death shoot out. If tied after the first 3 shooters, a single shooter will be used and so on until there is no longer a tie. Shooters cannot repeat until everyone on their team has shot. Players that are in the penalty box are ineligible for the shootout per USA Hockey rules. 6) Championship Overtime will be 3 v 3, 5-minute OT and then Round Robin OT shootout until a winner is determined. 7) Mercy Rule: At any point during the game, should the score differential be 6 or more the official game clock will be running time. Stop time shall commence if the trailing team closes the score to within 3 goals. There will be no mercy rule in any championship game. Tie Breakers: 1) Head-to-Head record 2) Goal Differential 3) Goals Against 4) Goals For 5) OT Wins 6) OT Losses 7) Coin Toss
